Erimus74 2,976 Posted November 8, 2019 Author Share Posted November 8, 2019 (edited) Boro flashback this day 8th November 1986 Darlington 0 BORO 1 Boro went in to this fixture unbeaten since the 21st of October & 2 league defeats this season after 15 games, losing 1-0 at Notts County & 3-1 Att home to Blackpool Our previous meeting with Darlington were when we met in the FAC January 1985 with Darlington winning after a replay at Feethans Times have changed since those llow times at the Boro & to go back to the last league meeting then its 20 years almost to December 66, also in the 3rd division, when over the festive period Boro won 3-0 away & 4-0 at home Now 20 years on a single goal from Archie Stephens was enough to take all points in this North East Derby & take all 3 points back down the A66 & continue our great form at the top of the league, this match attracted Darlington biggest crowd that season, 9,947 with the majority from the Boro Darlington striker & ex Boro favourite Dave Currie was sent off Bruce's team Stephen Pears Brian Laws Colin Cooper Tony Mowbray Gary Parkinson Gary Pallister Bernie Slaven Archie Stephens Alan Kernaghan - 3rd game of the season Gary Gill Stuart Ripley Link to post Share on other sites
