Not like I want to get involved in another Boo debate.... But it was just embarrassing the amount of booing when Gestede came off in the Crewe game. I don't boo myself but equally don't  hate it when it's been aimed at the full team if it's been a very poor display.

As for the OP, I sit in the SW stand and can understand the opinion a little. When we started there was a nervous tension that grew as the players more and more gave the ball away through sloppy passes probably the biggest grown coming from when Shotton booted it out wide instead of playing a simple pass. You could argue that the growns created the nervousness and thus the mistakes but I feel it was just simply a poor start from us.

The atmosphere from the South stand soon got much better once they actually had something a bit more to cheer for i.e. stringing some decent passes together just before the goal and obv the goal itself.

To note I actually thought the RF were brilliant in the final minutes of the game especially in stoppage time to help spur on the team to hang onto the win. Probably only negative in the 2nd half was the amount of grief for Randolph kicking it out while Wigan had a player down to the extent that he even held his hand to appologise to the stand.

Like others I'm of the belief that hopefully as expectations lower a little, as we start to look more like a team that knows what we are doing etc. etc. the atmosphere will very much return, it doesn't take much positivity from the pitch for the RF to start raising their voices but understandably they still need something to be happening.

Appreciate your thoughts FB, I didn't ever want to get this into a boo debate and it was never my intention. As you say I was embarrassed by the attitude towards Randolph on that occasion, but before we scored it was other players like I mentioned that were being targeted as well as obviously Woody. Shotton is a really poor footballer so don't blame everyone for getting a bit angry and frustrated at him, but when it turns to other players like Britt, Randolph, etc within 20 minutes in a game we desperately needed to capitalise on and take home 3 points - that I cannot understand.

My pal who I sit with was similarly furious with the comments, which dampened the atmosphere and in turn added another level of nervousness around the stadium and on the pitch as you say. Credit to RF as always for never stopping, and hopefully the rest of the stand will pipe down but ill be interested to see how those same people treat the players/manager on saturday.

Before I begin, this is my first post on the forum - really enjoyed following the rumours over the summer transfer window and i'm happy to be here. I've been going to games following the home and away

A few months back, I somehow by accident copy pasted a porn-link into a post at a random place .. It was really hillarious, but at least it lifted the mood, when the Pulis era was at it's worst ?

Hi guys, long time lurker first time poster. Kudos to all involved in this forum, easily the best Boro forum around. We've just put up an article addressing a couple of the issues in this thread.

That's a really well written blog, great job. I think you capture a lot of the positive aspects of the change and the point about the xbox gamer generation is well made. I'm an avid cm/fm player for a very long time and it's easy to get that sense of instant gratification when you take over a club and change everything with immediate results. Real life isn't like that.

One tiny minor quibble... It's "out of body experience" but that's me just being horribly nit-picky!

Welcome to the forum EF and I for the most enjoyed the read.

Can I say one thing though, and albeit perhaps many folks agree with the description and terminology you have mentioned, as the author of a pretty good article should you refrain to a degree and distance yourself from actually referring to a Boro player in a derogatory manner?

I think it is far better to actually not call anyone a derisory name especially a published article.

I would imagine RG would prefer to be as far away from Middlesbrough as possible.

Just an observation which I hope you do not mind

Want to add that the support was class today from all ends, lads were backed throughout and a lot more calm heads compared to wigan - despite the fairly poor first half. Hoping it continues. Utb.

I thought the same mate, much better today, helps when Rudy Gestede doesn't come onto the pitch I guess, which is sad really.
