pikerman 1,089
Good game that a lot of positives and a very welcome point, you can sort of see what we are trying to do but it is still very much a work in progress. Our defensive positioning and marking is all over the place, I don't know if we have a specialist defensive coach, if not then we need one, there was some schoolboy errors out there. Thsnk God for McNair, the best player on the pitch and to think we nearly sold him for very little.
sanddancer 1,964
It’s a shame all the hard work is being undone because we are so weak at the back. Still I’m happy for some strange reason and it’s neither drink nor substance.
BoroJake 2,331
Great game. Think we probably deserved the win too. Great save by Bentley at the end
BoroSmoggie 2,678
Clayton MOTM for me. Was excellent and showed why he shouldn’t be dropped for anyone in his position. One of the first name on team sheet for me.

This year we shouldn't be having that sort of expectation. It's about adjustment and, as today proved, actual excitement. I'm happy with a top half finish.
BillinghamBoro 229
*board pessimist coming through* Enjoyed that game really did. Good goal for Britt and still felt sorry for the Bristol centre half for slicing through his own net. Played well going forward but goodness me we are horrendous at the back, needs sorting out asap. Dijksteel looks uncomfortable still, but he might grow in to the team after time.
TeaCider24 12,402
Entertaining game, good offensively but weak defensively. I'd have been happy with a point before kick-off, ended the match disappointed.
BoroSmoggie 2,678
Important that we got a good performance before the international break also.

Changing Times 12,219
Miles better than most of what we've seen this season and much closer to what I'd like to see from us each week. Fry at fault for the second goal but not the first. If you wanted to make a wider point, you could say that if opposition midfielders are going to run into our penalty area then our midfielders need to track them or we'll always have some problems. However, with the second goal, Fry has him in his sights and then leaves him whilst not marking anyone else so that's down to him. It was good to see us still looking to win it at the end. The two new lads did ok and pretty much so did everyone else. I don't know what happened with the Blackburn, Wigan and Millwall games but today was a significant shift away from those three in terms of what we were trying to do. BoroSmoggie 2,678
Ayala is a huge player for us, I doubt we’d have conceded either of them goals if he was playing. The question is do we drop Shotton who’s played well last two games, or Fry who was at fault for both goals today? I presume Shotton, but it would almost be a bit harsh now. Long term Fry and Ayala is a promotion partnership at the back.
Jamie-H 1,322
Much better 2nd half I think it was down to Dijksteel and Bola playing higher up and Wing being tidier on the ball. Still concerned by our own set pieces and defending lobbed crosses, thought Fry had a good game and Shotton by his standards had a decent game. McNair's getting better every game if the lad gets a consistency to his shots skys the limit. Thought Johnson had a meh game, Wing recovered, Fletcher and Britt were threats I just want to see us improve our crossing and tidy up our build up a little we're too lazy with our movement at times. Not a bad result didn't fade and sure we lost a winning position but 1 0 down in the old days you could turn off then and there we came back well that's the biggest positive out of today. Rioch's Braves 711
We played some nice football, thought Britt was a handful today, never gave up on anything, McNair & Clayton were excellent, Bola did well going forward, couple of negatives 2 very poor goals conceded, and we go down to 10 men when Saville comes on, his cross field pass to Bola kind of sums him up, the mans a passenger.

Bola and Dijksteel looking more comfortable every time I see them now. Other highlights for me was Britt looking really sharp and looking to really bully their centre halves with his strength and running in behind and again McNair looked really bright.
