Boro v Bristol City (A) 2-2 (Moore (og) Assombalonga)

Did we know Ayala was injured? It must have been a last minute thing because surely we would have pulled wood from the youth squads game last night if we did?

Worried about that defence. Two full backs who look pretty devoid of confidence, a returning Fry (again quite a quiet player) and Shotton. Rest of the team looks fine to me. Just the defence without Ayala, he is our rock, we will definitely miss him in both boxes for headers.

do they have any big lads?

A back four that has never played today isn't what we need away at Bristol C... Shotton is so bad that I would rather sacrifice McNair from the midfield and play him in defence. This season Shotton has given up at least one major goalscoring chance per game... complete liability at centre half.

Lets hope the effort and attitude are spot on and we can spring a suckerpunch or two on them going forward!

Happy enough with that line up, if you swap Ayala and Howson for Shotton and Clayton I think we have our strongest 11

Worrying that there is no Ayala and Howson has been key this season so far.

Hoping it clicks.

Ok apologies but I’m in Berlin airport which my flight is delayed which means two things

a) I’ll miss the match on tele

and

2) I will spend a lot longer in the lounge with free G&T than anticipated so sorry for what I may post ?

Nice see Fry as captain - Hopefully 1 of many occasions this season to build confidence and put more £ on his head!

I really really worry about that defence though against a very offensive Bristol City team.

Cheer OC ?

i was being slightly facetious (read my airport post for context) but being a solid 175cm anything else seems excessive ?

    • Yes it does. Seems like the Belgian league pulled the trigger too soon because they have been summoned into a meeting with uefa after uefa said they would ban clubs for next season if the leagues were cancelled.
    • Hi everyone and I hope all are doing as well as can be under the circumstances? Still no sign of this nightmare abating for a while yet. Plenty of examples of people still not understanding the social distancing rules or maybe defying the advise or instruction. Plenty of conspiracy theories going around and certainly G5 towers being damaged because of it. Where will it end I wonder as I would not be surprised to see further examples of social unrest down the line. Are any of you feeling the brunt of the reality of COVID 19 or know of friends, family that are going through it, if so hopes of a pull through are sent to you? So much time on our hands now, use it well and take good care of yourselves.
    • Wonder who Sky sports would employ to slate boro if Keith Andrews goes...🤔
    • As is typical of the FAI Robbie Keane signed a 4 year deal at the time that McCarthy signed a 2 year deal so he still has a contract. However it is understood that Stephen Kenny does not want him in the senior set up. Kenny wishes to work with Keith Andrews as his assistant and Damien Duff as coach.
    • Hello everyone, Hope you are all well, I see ROI have bought forward  theyu21 boss appointment as boss of senior teams to replace Mick McCarthy. Does anyone know if that means Robbie Keane also left? Cant find anything other than FA thanking Mick and his staff for they work.
