Posting after game 1 because I thought I’d already done it but now realise I hadn’t! No worries if my predictions are void but thought I’d chance it... sorry!

At 8pm tonight there was officially 4 No Shows.

3 have since posted albeit to late and  it as got me thinking maybe I am doing this wrong and should no be involving week day games for League predictions.

This is the second week on the trot that we have had no shows on a Friday night.

In the morning when I am awake I will look further into possibly changing things around maybe go back to 2 leagues may be the answer. Lesser games in the season and easy to fit them in with Saturday games.

Split the league in two 12 teams in the first league and  14 in the second. The points are still pretty tight we are only in the 8th Round it can be done.

My only worry is that with 26 in the league thats 50 match's each, it is going to cause all sorts of problems later towards the end of the season.

I am open to any ideas if anyone as them or if you think reverting to the 2 leagues maybe the problem solver.

Let me sleep on it. MM

In my opinion you are doing a great job.

Predicting is fun and so is the league.

To be fair, you give plenty of notice of the fixtures and if people miss cut offs then that's just unfortunate.  We all have busy lives but I believe that if you miss a cut off then its tough. Harse maybe but you have given plenty of notice to when kick offs are.

I have missed cut off times on here, Super 6 and Fantasy league over the years. It's only a game!!!

As for splitting the league I'm not too sure. It seems to be working well and doesn't need fixing and there aren't that many no shows ( not regular players anyway)

Keep up the grand work and keep those fixtures coming fast and furious.

    • This day 15th November 1994 - Boro's young guns go down to Ancona in this Anglo-Italian compatition Boro took the lead after 10 minutes then struggled to impose themselves on the game, the youth in the team v experience they were facing proved too much in the end, with Ancona levelling on the hour mark & scoring 2 late goals in the 80th & 90th to put the game beyond Boro
    • Thing is, we almost certainly will offer him less money. And I don't think based on what he's said that he'd outright deny just less than what he's on. But tackling the wage bill would appear to need more movement than that and actually, a significantly less wage. I wouldn't expect him to stay on those terms. I'd say if the club really cares about wanting to keep him around, they need to approach it carefully, even if they are going to low-ball him to begin with, don't be a *** about it and expect him to say yes to anything because of a commitment to the club. Have a high boundary that you can't go beyond, work up to it and if his representatives think he should say no to our highest offer then we leave it at that and on good terms. No taking the ***, no expecting him to be accepting a pittance for his services on the back of the club as a whole's mistakes, something much bigger than Ayala's responsibility at this club. Most importantly for me, we have to accept the likelihood he leaves and hopefully wish him all the best if he does. I think he's been a great servant for us and I hope, unlike Derby, we treat him as professionally as he's treated being a player for this club.
