I dont know the ins and outs of his contract but as he was signed on a prem contract I would hazard a guess it's quite significant especially when we were paying Negredo 100k a week and Valdes 80k a week

He had come from a team who historically paid stupid wages in the premier league too. It really wouldnt surprise me if he was on 40 to 50k a week.

Roberts is done. As someone has said, Ayala is on £25k a week. Don’t know what he’s been offered but I can’t believe it would be £5k. Randolph is gone, assume it’s West Ham.    5 more

Football Insider just put up an article saying West Ham are waiting on receiving results of 2nd medical on Randolph before deciding whether to proceed. Expect to get results on Monday.

This has the hallmarks of a transfer that could fall through. Hope I am wrong.

Bored of it all now to be honest... if it falls through it will prob mean no more incomings... just how it is

I’d be interested in where MFC would stand legally. If one club doesn’t want to take the risk and we play him further exasperating his injury would Boro be accountable?

Exactly. Top GK and great player for us but he one we can afford to move on so to use some of the fee to strengthen where we are weaker. Therefore really want him gone.

I don't think it would be good for team spirit having a player come back in who either failed to get a move or the club failed to force him out, whichever way you look at it.

Bad for the fans too.

It's all been done pretty amicably, tbf. If he ends up stuck here he's not going to just take Pears' place.

If we had a very strong outfield, akin to when we got promoted, then I'd be desperate to keep Randolph as he's an excellent quality Championship goalkeeper. However, as many of our outfield positions need strengthening/depth, we're in a tough financial position, Randolph's fee and wages would raise significant funds, and his fee is only going to depreciate with his contract expiring soon, I'm therefore quite happy to sell him. It should go through as planned once his injury heals so I'm not getting too concerned yet.

Which would be even worse, one of our highest earners not getting sold and not playing.

It wouldn't be ideal but i'd rather that and sell him in the summer than have him back in the team stifling Pears' development and destroying his confidence. He's earned the right to be #1, dropping him for Randolph should he stay would be disastrous for the lad.

Does give him a bit of a safety net though which I wouldn't mind. My worst fear in this scenario is Pears, quite understandably, doesn't keep up his form endlessly and we have nowhere to turn and have to push him through his tough period, fans getting on his back, club getting blamed for not replacing Randolph, etc. etc. At least if Randolph stays, there's a safe pair of hands behind him.
