Depends how homesick he really is I suppose - would heading down essentially towards London be good for him if that's the case?

Just spitballing here, no idea whether he is genuinely homesick or not.

It would be a pretty stupid career move to stay at Burnley instead of going to Watford just because they won't accept our offer - which in all likelyhood is less worth financially for Burnley.

Roberts is done. As someone has said, Ayala is on £25k a week. Don’t know what he’s been offered but I can’t believe it would be £5k. Randolph is gone, assume it’s West Ham.    5 more

But would he rather sit in the burnley stands if Watford is the only club to have a bid accepted. I don't think so.

He doesn't sit in the stands.  He spends all of his time over here 🙂

Watford deal I mean.... sorry

That's alright man, thanks for putting it right. I suspect wage contribution could be a factor if Gibson is willing to pay the wages we don't contribute to just to move to us. Unless Watford stump up the full whack, they could struggle if we're, one way or another, paying all of it.

This is the stuff online - from the Sun transfer blog

"HORNETS STING

Exclusive by Alan Nixon: Watford Boss Nigel Pearson is making a shock move for Burnley’s out of favour centre half Ben Gibson.

Pearson wants the former Middlesbrough defender who has had a miserable time at Turf Moor since signing for £13 million.

The Hornets chief is keen to take Gibson on loan and give him a better chance of first team action at Vicarage Road.

Burnley want Gibson’s wages paid in full and Watford are willing to fork out around £40,000-a-week for the rest of the season.

Gibson had other loan moves abroad and interest from Boro, but none of them managed to find the funds for a deal. "

Carter Vickers we are pushing for again. He was at rockcliffe in summer and he is due back again tomorrow. Gibson still isn’t happening pretty much completely stalled now as said a few days ago premiership all wages paid likelyhood.
