Roberts is done. As someone has said, Ayala is on £25k a week. Don’t know what he’s been offered but I can’t believe it would be £5k. Randolph is gone, assume it’s West Ham.    5 more

I'm reserving judgement on him. Others have said what I feel about this already. Big big risk when we're so tight on FFP.

I doubt were paying much at all for this one and hes only here for a few months so I dont think hell make or break us In that sense.

He should be busting his *** to prove himself to the Boro fans. Time will tell I guess.

My worry is that he initially impressed, we give him a 3 year deal and he instantly reverts to type.

Well nothing too lose really is a short term punt if he plays well he hopefully be happy to finally be achieving something so will sign for us in summer on longer deal. But if he doesn't play well doesn't matter we aren't financial tied

He signed the new contract just after relegation, didn’t he? I guess thinking was we either get promoted again, in which case we want to keep him, or we don’t get promoted in which case he will be snapped up by a Premiership club, so we want him tied down to a long contract to ensure we get good price for him. If you look at it that way, it worked. (Although at time the price wasn’t  considered very good by most fans, in hindsight we did well)

We have been atrocious with contracts though, easily among the top wage bill for years
