Anyone close the team news; how fit is Britt and how far off first team football? Is it even viable that a team in need of a striker will buy him, or is he too far off form for a potential suitor to think it’s a good idea?

He apparently could feature against Fulham, so he's getting there if it's not Woodgate spinning a yarn.

I know a guy who says that Ben Gibson owns a house near him in Great Ayton/Newton-under-Roseberry (I'm purposely being vague incase it's true), and that the he has been having massive renovations done to the house in recent months but they are nearly done now. From this he's using it as evidence that he's coming back imminently. I'm sceptical about it, but considering all the speculation I may as well stir the pot.

Sceptical about it being true or sceptical that it would mean he is coming back?

I’m sceptical if the house he’s talking about it Ben Gibson’s. It’s certainly a Gibson’s though as the outside has the name Gibson on it. Also, even if there is renovation work being done, it doesn’t prove he’s coming back.

I’m sure it’s not uncommon for a wealthy guy to have a nice home in his hometown despite working elsewhere. I’d find it weirder if he didn’t have.

Doesn't Steve have a house near there? I seen Steve driving his Aston Martin in Helmsley once.

If only there was someone ‘claiming to be his friend’ who’d said this all along...

This. His entire family still lives here and he is back in area very regularly. In fact I seen Ben Gibson on Teesside several times since he left. Certainly more than i seen any current boro player.

If it is his you're absolutely right. Renovating his house would prove nothing. Certainly wouldn't prove he is coming back, irrespective of the size of the renovations

Aspects of that place are scary. And some people think he's broke 🤔🤔

    • I think some of the players today looked fatigued, in my opinion. NW not picking certain players, not making substitutions earlier or even using all 5 allowed substitutions (recently), will further fatigue certain players as they will have to continue to play on. Howson, McNair, Dijksteel, Saville and Tav have all played over 1100 minutes so far this season. Only Brentford have the same amount of outfield players (5) as us, to have played over 1100 minutes. So although we both agree we are in the same predicament as every other team, our circumstances in terms of player numbers are certainly different. Regarding your other points they are well made, but I'm not sure why you have made them when the original discussion was regarding player fitness and how I thought it played a small part in today's performance.
    • Reckon we can get this lad to swap sports? He knows how to finish and isn't bad with the ball at his feet! Could play him up top! 😂
    • Robert’s had 218mins playing time and I go along with what someone early stated, the less he plays the greater his status.  Roberts is not the saviour because the team needs a lot more then any single player can bring to the squad, unity, creativity, belief, communication.  Equally NW has managed to create a team that is hard to beat, but on the other hand, find it hard to win.  The league is not easy and we all know that a month can see a team flying high and drop 6 or 7 positions in a blink of a eye.  Lets get to the half way mark and then judge, but I feel upper mid finish..
    • Good Idea, I'll update the next few rounds already up then carry on from now on
    • Sorry, in my earlier post, I meant that I’d pick Johnson on current form, not Roberts. I wouldn’t usually have Johnson in my starting line up but he deserves to be there right now. I’d pick Roberts because he’s our most creative player and we currently lack creativity.    I don’t think there’s anything more to it than the fact that Warnock doesn’t trust him defensively. There’s a reason why the only game he has started recently was at home to the bottom side in the league. I feel it all just sums up Warnock’s mindset, that the deciding attribute for a winger is their defensive qualities. I’d get it if we had a load of other attacking players on the pitch but we start with one striker, a pretty defensive winger on the other side and three hard working midfielders. Just so negative.
