Apparently it’s there and we don’t need to sell to buy.... Gibson must have got 3 numbers on last nights lottery.

£85 must go a long way these days in football 😲

It's the type of signing Gibson usually finds money for, regardless of whether he's really needed or not.

I am abit concerned that they is no winger's linked apart from Jack Clarke as that's where we need must sign someone that is half decent so teams are abit fearful playing us!

Doesn't Maddison play from wide?

Maybe but he doesn't really look like the typical winger the type who can run the length of the pitch and whip a cross in

I'm not sure many of those players exist anymore to be honest.

The modern wide player is more likely to cut inside and interchange with other players.

Pretty much, full backs are supposed to do that job.

Been told we want 10 for Randolph... dont see us offering terms for Ayala Howson Gestede... just because I dont think we can afford them. Clayton free to go as well I believe

Clayton definitely looking for a move and free to leave. Agent has been talking to a few clubs

I say this because Boro have only really acheived success when had a good winger. As when we promoted had Adomar, reached the playoffs with Traore and even in the golden area had the English international Downing. All these players ran the length of the pitch and whipped crosses in.

His time has run its course here, and he's lost a lot of popularity, not sure it's a huge loss if he goes and he's still young enough to have some value.

Even adomah was used a lot on the left cutting in.

He is right footed so that would make sense

I meant he wasn’t always played as a ‘traditional winger’

    • He's never going to get the same contract anywhere else, so perhaps he'd be open to a new three year contract on say 25k instead of risk being without a club in the summer. Just this season it's become pretty apparent that a lot of players find it hard to get contract offers. I would still assume that he will get offers on a free, but not close to what heis on here. If he is happy he could well think that we will offer him the best deal perhaps with a Prem club release clause.
    • I agree with you mate. I think Roberts needs a rub of games. This idea of throwing him in here and there is unfair on him and neither will it see him produce his best. He might produce some mediocre performances to start with but give him a run of games and then see what he can do. If he fails to produce over a run of a half dozen games then by all means pass judgment For what it is worth i would be looking to get someone in on left who can cut in. A roberts equivalent almost. Bolasie would have been a good fit.
    • Historically this is the sort of team we struggle against, but it is in our favour that they will not be coming here for a point as only a win benefits them. If we use the pace we have effectively and sit on their danger men, then the odds should be in our favour as I cannot see Warnock settling for a draw in this game. Might not be a big win, but if we can get a goal in the first twenty minutes, their confidence will not be boosted and we won't be on the edge of our seats for 90+ minutes. 2-0 should be possible and anything extra would be great.
