FA Cup 3rd round draw Spurs Home

Recommended Posts

Boro are ball number 26 in tonight's 3rd round draw for this seasons FA Cup.

Will this be a distraction to the importance of the season?

Who are you hoping to get be it home or away from The Riverside?

Will we get dumped early doors?

Are we now afforded the title of "giant killers" should we get a lower league team?

Do you really care because we will never win it this season and that you just want it over and done with?

Can we go on a run and bring in much needed finances to the club?

For me let's get a PL team at home for a change

I'm crying out for a home draw DS because I will be over from the 3rd - 6th Jan for a function so would love to be able to pick up a Boro game while I'm there. If not a home draw at least somewhere reasonably local enough so I can go to the game. UTB

I think a decent Premier League team at home is probably the best thing to hope for. A bit of extra revenue that's a 'free hit'. I think we could do without the added pressure of having to beat a lower league opposition and potentially crashing out early as it will only make feelings/confidence worse.

I saw you'd quoted me and it took me about 10 milliseconds to figure out what you'd put as I went back over my own comment in my head. 😂

Yeah, it was a bit of an easy one that in all honesty.  It's like the sort of chance that Assombalonga and Fletcher would have put just 15 feet over the bar 🙂

I would like to see us spank Sunderland at the Riverside!

We'd probably still manage to lose!

(yes I know that doesn't make sense...but then this season hasn't made a lot of sense so far)

Given that league survival has to be our #1 priority, very much so

Who are you hoping to get be it home or away from The Riverside?

As others have said, a home tie against one of the big PL teams would be nice

Will we get dumped early doors?

Yes, if the above happens

Are we now afforded the title of "giant killers" should we get a lower league team?

Haha! Yes.

Do you really care because we will never win it this season and that you just want it over and done with?

A cup run, while always nice, is very much a secondary priority. More games really doesn't help with our already thin squad and lengthy injury list.

Can we go on a run and bring in much needed finances to the club?

I really don't see it unless we get drawn against lower league clubs.

As usual, I want Newcastle.

But I do think I'd sooner a hard draw this year as anything below the Premier League is going to be a banana skin that will just depress fans.

    • Boro flashback - This day the 29th January 1977 Boro 4 Hereford United 0 Since the 18th January 1972, when the mighty Boro beat Man City in the 3rd round of the FAC, the visit of Hereford United to Ayresome Park was to be my 11th home & away Boro FAC match Hereford were welcomed to Ayresome Park, without the famous Ricky George & George Radford, both who will forever go down in FAC history for their 2 goals which brought hundreds of onrushing parkers on to the pitch when, as a non league team, knocking 1st division Newcastle out of the FAC  Now Hereford, who in 5 seasons since  joining the football league are in the 2nd division, came to the Boro hoping for the fairytale to continue But...............                                              It was never going to be the case, I can still remember from my position dead centre of the holgate as Graeme Souness measured up to smash a thirty yarder in to the east end goal, I started to shout, don't shoot from there, gooooooaaaaaaalllllll And from then it was Davey Armstrong with a couple, including a penalty & Alan Willey with his1st FAC goal, the Boro cruised to the 5th round  Hereford finished bottom of the 2nd division that season  Big Jacks inaugural FAC Boro home match  Pat Cuff John Craggs  Terry Cooper  Graeme Souness  Stuey Boam  Willie Maddren  Tony McAndrew  David Mills  Peter Brine  Alf Wood  Davey Armstrong  Sub - Alan Willey replacing Alf Wood
    • Well done for minding your p's and q's there. Something that was called while the lady of the public house walked through. Meant mind your pints and quarts.
    • the origins of phrases sometimes have very strange explanations.......I always assumed that "taking the mick" was something to do with Ireland, but apparently Cockney rhyming slang...the one that always makes me smile is "he couldn't hit a cow's **** with a banjo"... why would anyone want to?
    • 3 days until deadline day and this is what is being posted 😂
    • Yep. Our cushion was 10pts after the last game week. We are now a point worse as far as that is concerned after this game week. Luton winning not a huge issue but Wigan winning was a blow. Had they not scored 93rd min winner our cushion would have been 11pts
