Boro v Preston North End (A) 2-0 (Gestede, Davies (OG) )

Recommended Posts

😁 another 3 points in the bag with another vocal thread

Preston like a lot of possesion but are failing to do anything with it

We can get a point out of this at the very least, frustrate them and the 3 points are ours 😍

1-0 Boro Howson

Don’t see why we can’t beat these. They seem to be struggling a bit recently and like us don’t seem to score often. Going for 2-0 Boro

Preston have surprised me this season I only realised how well they were doing last week when they were briefly in 3rd place. I do enjoy an away day at Preston it's a proper old school ground.

I think it's definitely a marker for us tomorrow. Hopefully yesterday was a sign of us starting to play the way Woodgate wanted us to play and not a freak performance. I would like us to keep the same team but with so many games in so few days it will be bold to do so and for us to maintain the standard of performance.

I'm going to go 1-1 and Fletcher to get ours.

I think a lot will depend on what's left in the players legs. If we show the same zip as at WBA then we could win well. We look solid now so dont think we will lose.

It depends how knackered the squad is to how we do to be honest. As we don't really have the depth to rotate players out the starting 11 but then again McNair and Browne are back

We'll get beat here

(i'm continuing with reverse psychology after it worked against WBA 😉 )

I think they'll edge it, yeah. We've picked up a good amount of points recently, could forgive a less than desirable performance and result in this one. I suspect we'll be a bit laboured in our attempts after working so hard in the West Brom game and Preston will very much want to start the new year better than how they've ended this one.

Going for 1-0 Preston.

I said 10 points from the last 4 games and this one (got the West Brom defeat and the Swansea defeat the wrong way around) but in that I predicted a draw for Boro v Preston, so I will stick with that. Think Fletch definitely will want to grab another goal and keep this run of form going so I am going with 1-1.

Wing looked far better in his attacking midfield position against West Brom. I’d like to see him there again on Wednesday

Anyone got any idea why our match is the only one NOT on the Red Button 🤷‍♂️

Something I noticed is that MFC put up the full 90 minutes of the West Brom game on their site this morning. That hasn’t happened for a long time

    • Because of his fee (2-4 million would be my ballpark) we'd have to be offering a 3 year deal to him which would take him to his 32nd birthday so not terribly old certainly not in Downing territory. Listen in the market where League 1 wingers are priced at 2 million getting Junior Hoilett for that kind of price would be good business the problem I see here is Cardiff will be desperate to keep their main creative player outside of silly money. Another one in the can't hurt to try but chances of it happening seem slim to me we paid 6 million for Howson who was entering his final year in this league teams would rather let them walk on a free than sell to a division rival remotely cheaply.
    • I love how they refer to warnocks new 1 year contract as 'a long term contract'
    • Both Bournemouth and Bristol City seem set to give their assistant managers the managerial position.
