Don't know how anyone is taking positives from that game yesterday. Yes we worked hard but that should be every game. We diddnt create anything at all. The play in the final 3rd was embarrassing.

Believe me you are not alone Danny.

If that was a better performance then why not show it over the last few games.

Laughable I tell ya laughable

I was expecting it to be at least 4-0 and for us to not get out of our own third, so yeah, I took positives. It's easy to be be negative though ain't it. End of the day, we're 21st & they're 2nd.. I'm not sure what people were expecting.

If we  play with that level of intensity against lower teams we should pick up results again. If...

A shot on target?

So you actually think that we are rubbish then and all the positivity is just a front? 😮

Still, it's easy to pretend to be positive, ain't it? 😉

Probably the best game Pears has had for us, at least. Made some decent saves, hope we can tie him down wherever we are.

A couple of wins is sufficient?  That assumes neither WIgan nor Barnsley, both on better form, can out do that.

Well 45-46 points is usually considered to be mathematically safe (so 3 wins then). If we can somehow get to that point, it shouldn't matter what the clubs below us do. Not guaranteed, of course, but its enough most seasons.

That would make it harder for him to save shots though 🤔

I didn't say I was blindly positive

It'll help him develop his skills.

On a more serious note, he had a canny game and I assume he's viewed as the clear first choice GK for us.  However, I don't really understand the situation with the new lad as you'd figure he'd be ahead of Mejias in the pecking order but he can't make our bench for some reason.  On that basis it seems unlikely that he could take the place of Pears but I don't know.

I think we're trying to acclimatise him to English football before giving him a senior game.

What happens if he doesn't acclimatise?

    • I’m still dreading Woodgate being reappointed, he seems to have disappeared but is still employed by the club. Does anybody know what his  role now is?
    • Every year it’s another bloody clear out I presume it will be the same this year. Then we’ll change the type of manager we have, he’ll want different players and the whole cycle will start again.  I’m really not fascinated by it, not with out recruitment. We’ll be signing has beens and unproven players. There is no plan in place, we need a proper chairman with a decent methodology in place.
    • @Dan1234 Spot on mate! Back to square one otherwise. If Warnock keeps us up then that is great, he has done his job. It's harsh, but I'd say thanks very much but we are moving in this direction. If he was open to it, I think he'd be a good addition to the backroom staff (Coach or Assistant) as a  "mentor" if you will, for a more positive thinking manager. Think if we do go down the route of a untested/inexperience manager, building the correct backroom staff is a must. Something we failed to do with Woodgate.
    • This sounds all too Boro-like. So much that I believe it's how it will pan out. I literally have no idea who we should approach though. Not domestically anyway. Lee Johnson seems like a Gibson signing though, but it's not like he has really made Bristol take huge steps forward despite good investment. Plays nice football but always falters in the second part of the season. Could perhaps lay a decent foundation here for a few years. Hughton is also an obvious choice, but I doubt he'd want to come here. Long story short I don't think we have the senior staff to appoint a decent foreign manager so we will look at who is available domestically.
