I had my test results back and they were positive for Covid-19.. So lucky that I just had the mild symptoms!!

Hope everyone's doing well and keeping healthy! Haven't posted for a few months due to being busy and the lack of football, but had a gradual read through this thread. Crazy looking back at the f

Gazpacho, no chance of scalding.

There you go everyone, Billy's official advice is to wash your hands regularly in Gazpacho soup to avoid getting the virus 👍

Yeah I was reading that the other day, two bits stood out for me which I sort of suspected anyway;

One was “Every novel disease that comes out of China instantly seems to gain the description ‘pandemic’.....

.....Covid-19 seems to fit neatly with our fears about Huawei spying on our phones and Chinese manufacturers stealing our jobs.”

And another bit basically saying; Brexit went through with incident, USA v Iran standoff fizzled out, the bushfires in Australia have died down now. So we need a new thing to be hysterical about. It’s like the world just bounce from one non crisis to the next without stopping to think about it.

I'm becoming convinced it’s just the illuminati keeping us all in state of fear and panic! 👁

I don't have any fears about Huawei or Chinese manufacturers stealing my job.  I'm also not currently in a state of fear and panic, well maybe a bit about Boro I suppose.  That doesn't mean however that I would treat this virus as if it's nothing.  The article is pretty dumb really especially when it puts forward the stats to make it seem like it's no big deal.  It obviously hasn't occurred to the journalist that the current figures for those with the virus and those who have died from the virus has coincided with all of the measures being taken globally to stop or slow it down.  In other words, if nobody was bothered enough about it to do anything then both figures would be much higher and continuing to climb around the world.  You know like shutting down entire cities, massively reducing travel between certain countries, closing schools and so on.  But if some daft get writing for a magazine plays it down then I'll just ignore the various scientists and medical types cos they know bugger all, obviously.

Arguments on both sides.  Media hype!!!!  Don't remember all of this *** with swine flu and Sars?  No social media you see.  We all just got on with it to a certain extent.

I remember it and with foot and mouth as well.  I'm pretty sure people are just getting on with it now to be fair.

People are just getting on with it. The reason you see more people hyped up and hysteric about it is just as much about social media as the hysteria is. There's more sources generating hysteria but there's also more hysterical people telling you how they feel. Go outside and into town and people might wear masks (which I haven't personally seen yet) but they're still out there, doing their jobs, socialising and getting on with their lives.

I saw the plastic box and how the *** is the carrier bag one working? Hasn't he got a hole cut in the middle of it? 😄

It’s a strong look, I like the way she’s paired the scarf with the plastic box, I agree with you on the carrier bag, needs some accessories and maybe some layering, maybe some spring colours to bring it right on trend, saying that, I do like the jaunty way he’s wearing those red handle straps, he didn’t just grab the first thing he saw and throw it on.

Everyone should research the virus.  For most people under 60 it'll be like the common flu.  We lived through sars, swine flu etc. Years ago so don't flap.  The one big thing that wasn't around last time was social media.  Smart phones, YouTube, WhatsApp etc.

Hysteria caused by the media..

I don't know about "caused" by the media, but the constant / daily coverage is definitely making it seem a lot worse than it is, by focusing on a few individual cases (plus those 2 cruise ships).

The public don't help themselves by putting 2 and 2 together and getting 57. Or believing what some random person posts on Twitter / Instagram / WhatsApp.

Worldwide, to date, there have been over 100,000 recorded cases and over half of those have already recovered.

In the UK there have been around 160 recorded cases, so far and 2 confirmed deaths...both elderly people with underlying health problems.

In a population of over 60 million, that isn't even a drop in the ocean.

Well the rest of the games in Denmark in March are played behind closed doors. The prime minister has said that everyone should avoid gatherings of more than 1000 persons. I find it very over reactive and I’m a bit miffed with the behind closed doors thing. But I don’t think you can postpone seasons now.
