COVID-19 And it’s effect on everyone and everything

Recommended Posts

Oh heaven, just had my first draft IPA in 3 months. The Brewdog pub down the road from me has opened up to sell takeouts, 2 perfect pints of IPA on a sunny afternoon, it really does taste so much better than the canned stuff.

Good to see some beer talk! Im a head brewer for a brewery in York, you guys should check out Williams Brothers beers they are rare because they Scottish based but at the minute they have some good exclusive craft beers in Aldi for a limited time and there cracking!

Some great brews coming out of York recently. I have drunk beers from Treboom, Ainsty, Rudgate and Brew York in the last few months.

I have had the Brew 33, Green Hop Monster, Valkyrie and my favourite the Brew 33 Triple Hop either in Middlesbrough (Sherlocks) or Leeds (Duck and Drake).  Thanks.

DZ,

The Hazy O-G is great but they have really messed up Hazy Jane 5%. Not a great brew. Have you tried Triple Hazy? 9.5% of sheer indulgence. It was released in the Brewdog Online AGM pack in April and drinks so easy.

Dan,

One of my personal faves is Tonkoko by BrewYork.

Also, please tell me that Push Pineapple and Shake the Tree are not by Williams in Aldi. Probably 2 of the worst beers I've ever tasted.

Yeah I was expecting a lot more from Hazy Jane, but it’s not one of BrewDog’s best ales, not tried the draught version yet, maybe that will work better.

Hazy Jane used to be great when it was original strength.

Then Brewdog made it into a 5% brew which is poor. Got to go for the Hazy O-G at 7.2% or even better the Triple Hazy at 9.5%

Anyone tried Three Brothers Brewing Co. near Stockton?

My local in Oxford had AU and Trilogy on cask a while back and it was great. Their ThaIPA is not bad as well in bottles.

They ran a beer festival in Eaglescliffe last year (twice a year I think) and it has to be recommended.

LIDL has a Belgian 6 bottle pack for £11.99 on sale from tomorrow and from what I gather its very good value.

I had a nice Barry’s Gold Blend tea this morning. I’m thinking of having a Lyons Green Label one this afternoon 😀😀😀

Thanks buddy, we tend to be a little bit more traditional less crafty.

I've had quite a few of your beers in the past, you're well positioned in the pubs in York as well as bottle shops like Trembling Madness 🙂

No love on here for Northern Monk? Some of their IPAs are really good.

Think most Boro fans have erased all meaning of the word Monk

    • I'm absolutely delighted with the win. Warnock has worked absolute wonders here. It's staggering to think that this well drilled team is largely the same group of players that Woodgate had underperforming. Dijksteel, Wood, McNair, Bola, Howson, Saville, Tavernier, Coulson, Assombalonga, Spence and Johnson were all here under Woodgate. The only new players are Bettinelli, Morsy & Akpom. The improvements are largely a result of Warnock's tactics and man management. It reinforces what an absolute waste of time Woodgate's inept spell here was. We need to do everything we can to support Warnock in the January transfer window to strengthen the squad as he knows exactly how to get us promoted. If we give him the resources, he'll get us promoted.
    • well he has just said they are going up this season. i said we have more chance of going up. he called me delusional. they have proper blinkers the mackems dont they.
    • A good day, another win. Happy, happy, happy. Bad day, lock down for 4 weeks... I don’t think I can take 4 weeks locked up with the wife I really don’t. Mind she said worse about me.  Could be a skin full tomorrow and I’m not one who drinks much, if anything at all but I know it upsets the wife, so I put up with it, the drink not the wife.  Oh lord another 4 weeks the business is delayed from opening and we get no assistance what so ever. I’ll probably get some doddles done though.... just need a moose and  a spray can.... or was it a mouse. I’ll get both just in case and I can eat them if food runs out...
    • Your mate is a mackem which automatically makes him clueless on all football related matters. Haha.
    • So during the last international break i did a best case scenario of what we could get from.next 7 games taking us to next international break: My predictions were Reading @ home: Win (had this odd feeling we would turn them over) Bristol @ away: Loss Cardiff @ away: Draw Coventry @ home: Win Forest @ home: Draw Blackburn @ away: Draw Brentford @ away: Loss Total: 9pts out 22pts We currently have 11pts from 15pts Great return so far and if u offered me 2 draws from next 2 games I would take it. But I would have taken a draw today and we got a win so f**k what i would take 😊. Buzzing.
