This was just an hour ago.

Which is before it was announced that Arteta had contracted it.

I'd not be surprised if they still ploughed ahead, but circumstances have changed again.

I had my test results back and they were positive for Covid-19.. So lucky that I just had the mild symptoms!!

Hope everyone's doing well and keeping healthy! Haven't posted for a few months due to being busy and the lack of football, but had a gradual read through this thread. Crazy looking back at the f

My wife is self isolating due to the anti-cancer drugs she is on, which means we are sleeping in separate bedrooms, separate sofas etc,  I am shopping and cooking all the meals (which we both prefer),

Crazy how something that's literally only been in the public eye for 3/4 months has totally derailed people's lives and the footballing season. Wonder if EFL games will still persist or will that change if someone picks up symptoms after weekends round of fixtures

Says everything you need to know about the premier league that they've needed an actual confirmed case for them to actually take any action beyond "no shaking hands". Completely reactive again rather than be proactive, and completely money grabbing as usual without a care in the world that people will die.

It’s all about money and knock on contractual obligations in everything nowadays not just sport, acting unilaterally is out of the question for any sporting team as there now little sympathy as almost every club hangs by a very precarious financial thread.

solicitors will be combing various contracts with an eye for which clauses allow them to be broken without financial penalties. With La Liga acting in the way they have I expect most other top leagues will follow their example and once stopped they won’t start again till everything ok.

The Olympics will be the big one to watch, how they act will be the benchmark for others as they probably the richest organisation with the most urgent need to postpone/cancel followed by UEFA.

The Euros are almost certainly going to be moved to 2021.

The football calender is going to be completely out of sync for years now.

It's fully understandable with this virus, even if it's sad, but then the World Cup is in December in 2022 because of corruption.

    • If distance is all that matters, then hard to beat this one 🙂
    • Can i ask where the sudden love and appreciation for Mendez Gomez has come from on this board? I seen people mention him a fee times in last couple days especially when not being happy at the signing of Michale Smith. Despite fact ones a winger and other is a striker so am not even understanding the comparison  Did anyone even know who Mendez Gomes was until @diggerlad07 mentioned we scouted him? And now he suddenly this up and coming talent in everyones eyes that we must sign? Reminds me last summer when this board had a meltdown at the club for losing out to Brentford for Charlie Goode and we all know how well he did for Brentford.
    • Ah..  the eighties..  when haircuts were weird and so were footballers 🙂
    • Why would we do that when we could sign a donkey in the back end of an average career for a manager who's gone in a year?
    • I don't really equate that Schick goal as being a 'screamer' from distance, though. Same with the Beckham goal from the half-way line. If I'm remembering correctly, Charlie Adam and Xabi Alonso scored similar ones, those goals took skill for sure but I just wouldn't put them in the same 'long-range screamer' category of those where the keeper was actually in a position to try to save the shot. Like those where the player spots the keeper off their line and give it a go and the keeper just tips it over. The first thing that comes to mind to me is what the hell was he doing so far off his line to begin with. Might make a Herculean effort to sprint back and adjust his body to tip it over but was often their own fault for having to do that at all!
