According to the Southampton Echo: The Ipswich game, set for the Friday, is all but certain to be rearranged. Unless Saints instead play in the FA Cup on Friday, the trip to Wrexham is too. That means the EFL will need to use two of the three available slots to play the games. Wrexham could be moved one day, to Tuesday, April 7. That would mean the Ipswich game would likely then go into April 14/15, which is one week later, or April 28/29, which is the last week of the season. To make matters even trickier, Ipswich also have another game to play against Portsmouth, so they are trying to rearrange a second game too. Saints head coach Tonda Eckert said: "My latest was the Wrexham game is going to get pushed back, potentially, depending on when the next fixture is. "And then Ipswich is going to get pushed one week even further." Eckert's answer was unclear, with the schedule to be decided, but suggests that the Wrexham game will be played first, with Ipswich to follow afterwards. Ultimately, if rearranged, the two fixtures could fall into any of the three available midweek slots. The EFL will confirm schedules in due course. What happens if Saints win the quarter-final too? If Saints win in their quarter-final match at the start of April, they will reach the final four and play at Wembley over the weekend of Saturday, April 25. This would see the league clash with Blackburn rescheduled, with only one midweek left of the season before the final day a week later - April 28/29. It is for this reason that the EFL may prefer the earlier two slots, April 7/8 and April 14/15, for Wrexham and Ipswich, as the last slot may be needed.
